Welcome to The Foundry: Find Your Way to Train
Starting somewhere new can be the hardest part of training. You don’t know anyone, you’re not sure what to expect, and you might be wondering whether you’re fit enough to turn up.
At The Foundry, you don’t need to have it all figured out. That’s what we’re here for.
We bring strength training, running and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu together in Royton, with proper coaching and people who’ll make you feel welcome. Expect to work hard, learn something and have a laugh along the way.
Why The Foundry?
I’m Matt, founder and lead coach.
My own training brings together lifting, running and over ten years of grappling. Each gives me something different, and that’s reflected in The Foundry.
I wanted to create a place where you can get help with your technique, make progress and get to know the people you train with. Somewhere you can arrive as a beginner and have something to work towards from day one.
You might want to feel stronger, tackle your first race, learn Jiu-Jitsu or get back into a routine. We’ll help you find a starting point.
Find your way to train
LIFT is our coached strength training. Learn to move well, build confidence with the weights and get stronger through consistent, progressive sessions. You don’t need lifting experience to start.
RUN STRONG takes your running into the gym. We work on the strength and control that support you on roads, trails and hills. If you love running but tend to skip strength work, this is for you.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gives you a different kind of challenge. Our adult Gi and No-Gi sessions combine technique, drills and live practice. There’s plenty to learn, whether you’re stepping onto the mats for the first time or bringing experience with you.
Kids’ BJJ gives younger members a chance to learn grappling, develop coordination and build confidence through coached practice and play.
Run Club gets us outdoors and onto the local trails. It’s free, social and a chance to enjoy some miles together. Mud is likely. Staying clean is optimistic.
For those who want more individual support, we also offer personal coaching tailored to your goals.
You don’t need to be fit first
You can start with the experience and fitness you have today.
Ask questions. Take time to learn. Let the coach know when something feels unfamiliar. Nobody expects you to walk in knowing how everything works.
The aim is to help you leave with a little more confidence—and a reason to come back.
Your first week is on us
The best way to understand The Foundry is to come and train.
You can try our classes free for one week, meet the team and see what you enjoy. You can explore different sessions before choosing how you want to train with us.
After that, Foundry Core gives you unlimited classes in one discipline, Foundry Elevate opens up all three, and Foundry Elite combines all classes with personal coaching.
Come and see what we’re building in Royton.
